DAY OF CARING - DAY OF ACTION United is your way! Chose your date, your project and volunteer your way. Traditionally the third Saturday in April, Day of Caring was a moment in a day. Now, reimagined to expand the opportunities and the impact, it is more flexible to meet the needs of our volunteers. Join your co-workers for a few hours to help out an agency, or gather your friends and family to tackle a big job. Choose a workday or a Saturday morning and sign up below. Upcoming Day of Caring Projects May 16, 2026 Jennings County Youth Involvement Team (JYIT) will tackle washing windows and other outdoor projects at Senior Housing. This is an annual project for this group of teens. See Mrs Ahlbrand for details. May 16, 2026 North Vernon Main Street Spring Cleanup - Volunteers, including a team of United Way board members, plan to spruce things up downtown. Volunteers will meet at 8:00AM Saturday in front of the Main Street office at 50 Short St., North Vernon. Contact# 812-592-8150. Tucker Real Estate Experts (North Vernon office) is heading to Muscatatuck Park on June 4th for a day of volunteering. This coincides with 2026 REALTOR® Volunteer Days. We are excited to roll up our sleeves and give back to this cherished space, ensuring it remains a beautiful and welcoming destination for all of our neighbors to enjoy. Project Details: weeding & spreading mulch, repainting the doors on the bathhouse and removing graffiti from the rock walls along the Muscatatuck River. Wear older/work clothes. "Un-adopted" Project: An elderly lady needs assistance packing up items on shelves so that the shelves can be moved. The apartment complex is renovating and she has to move out for a few weeks while they paint and replace carpet.
