Jennings
County Family YMCA The YMCA's mission is "To put Christian
principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit,
mind, and body for all." The Y's lifeblood is volunteers. We have
four areas of volunteers needed.
1. Coaches to provide a positive learning experience in the selected
sport and a positive role model for young impressionable young people.
We need coaches for Soccer Camp, Spring Soccer, Volleyball, Football,
Fall Soccer, Basketball, and Fitness Classes.
2. Supervisor/Chaperones for youth activities. To maintain quality,
positive experience for each Jennings County Youth, we need positive
role models to help ensure that positive character development is taking
place in each activity..
3. Front Desk receptionists at the YMCA facility. Volunteers would answer
questions and help ensure a positive experience for each member and
prospective member.
4. Policy/Vision volunteers are needed to ensure that the YMCA is fulfilling
our mission and to provide leadership to YMCA for future growth of character
development programs.

Big Sisters of Jennings
County Jennings County Advisory Council Members
Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Jennings County is growing to meet
the needs of our community. In order for us to better serve our community;
we need leaders from the business sector, who share our passion for
the children of Jennings County. BBBS seeks to maintain a diverse membership:
one that is 1/2 professional, 1/3 civic, and 1/3 business.Job Description:
1. Attend monthly Council meetings, as scheduled, and actively participate
in discussions and decisions 2. Actively participate in at least one
(1) committee 3. Attend and participate in the Annual Board Retreat
4. Actively promote the agency by reasonably using professional and
personal opportunities 5. Identify new Council members based upon Council
needs 6. Actively participate in the solicitation of teams and business
sponsorships for Bowl For Kids' Sake 7.
Consider giving financially to the organization via United Way, Bowl
For Kids' Sake, or direct donations 8. Comply with all agency policies
regarding Council/Staff lines of authority and communication 9. Promote
the recruitment of adult volunteers as "Bigs" 10. Solicit
community support and involvement in fundraising events (Be not afraid
to ask others for money!!) 11. Learn as much as possible about the agency
(i.e., visit satellite offices, attend national and regional conferences,
attend local agency-sponsored events, get to know the staff, become
familiar with policies and procedures, etc.) and participate in board
training 12. Attend community events and represent the agency whenever
possible 13. Consider being a Big Brother or Big Sister to a child

Legal Aid, Inc Member of Board of Directors
The Board of Directors is responsible for supporting and monitoring
the performance of the Executive DIrector, ensuring effective organizational
planning, ensuring adequate resources, managing resources effectively,
enhancing the agency's public standing, determining, monitoring and
strengthening the organizations programs and services, and recruiting
and orienting new board members. These duties are to be carried out
with obedience to Legal Aid's central purpose while operating within
the law.
