The Indiana United Ways Bison-tennial Public Art Project is an Officially Endorsed Indiana Bicentennial Legacy Project led by United Ways across the state to raise awareness of United Way's work in our local communities and celebrate Indiana’s 200th birthday.

Our local United Way is one among many local United Ways across the state leading a local Bison-tennial Public Art project. This is the first of it's kind statewide public art project in the nation! The goal is to raise awareness of United Ways across the state. #IndianaBisonArt

Jonathan Jennings was a leader in the anti slavery and pro statehood movements and when Indiana became a state in 1816, he was elected Indiana's first governor. Jennings County is named in his honor. Now, 200 years later our Indiana United Ways Public Art Project is also named in his honor.

Jonathan Jennings Bison will maintain an active Social Calendar to be a celebrity at local events, parades and festivals.

A whole herd of Indiana Bison Art will convene at the Indiana State Fair August 5-24, 2016. Bison from United Ways all across the state will gather to create the largest bison heard in the world.

Our Jonathan #JenningsBison will stand proudly along the Bicentennial torch route as the torch, built by Purdue, passes through Jennings County on September 16, 2016 from 3:00pm-5:30pm. The torch will enter Jennings County at the Scott-Jennings County line at 3:00pm, will, go through Vernon, arrive in North Vernon around 4:30. At 4:45pm, the torch will board a train to Vernon and depart Jennings Co. from Vernon at 5:00pm. #INTorchRelay The relay will be followed by a Bicentennial Bash in Stellar Plaza, downtown North Vernon from 5:00pm-10:00pm, including live music, food and drink.
